Yin Yoga & Deep Relaxation Workshop
“A CELEBRATION OF AUTUMN AND LETTING GO”
A workshop to celebrate the coming of Autumn, the season to “Let Go”. We will explore the offerings from Traditional Chinese Medicine, with the associated element for the autumn season of metal and the organs of the lungs and large intestine.
Yin yoga is the perfect way to honour nature and our internal environment as we slow our movement down to encourage relaxation and awareness. As we welcome autumn and we move towards the introspective seasons, this is a perfect time of inner reflection, realising what we want to have, and letting go of what we do not. Practicing yin yoga is a wonderful opportunity to let go, step into the winter feeling more like ourselves and leave feeling rested having acknowledged and appreciated all the emotions that seasonal changes can bring up.
The physical practise of this workshop will focus on the deep connective tissues and fascia throughout the lung meridian to release energy blockages and emotional imbalances. The postures will open up the body to regulate the body’s flow of energy throughout this meridian, increasing circulation in the joints, and improving flexibility.
In the poses we will support our bodies with pillows and props, blocks and bolsters where needed. These tools of comfort and allow us to be passive and receptive.
Accompanied with guided breathwork (pranayama), meditation and deep relaxation you will leave the workshop feeling balanced, calm, lighter, and at peace.
